DRIVER QUALIFICATIONS

 

Job Description

The Petroleum Product Tanker Driver responsibilities include safe product handling, product quality assurance and product transportation consistent with regulatory compliance and company operating goals. The Petroleum Product Tanker Driver is responsible for the pick-up and the drop-off of a specified liquid or gas. The driver must keep the truck properly maintained and must follow all safe driving regulations.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Transports deliveries in a safe, responsible manner and in accordance with company policy and applicable State & Federal regulations.

  • Applies knowledge and abilities to safely load and unload deliveries according to the capacity of the load and content description.

  • Processes and maintains proper delivery authorization and pickup documentation and submits in a timely manner.

  • Maintains communication with dispatch as to any delays or issues during route/shift.

  • Provides good customer service and maintains a professional manner and appearance to enhance the company‚Äôs image.

  • Performs a daily DOT pre-trip and post-trip inspection checklist, informing maintenance personnel of any issues.

  • Maintains a daily, legible DOT log book and submits log books as required by company policy. Maintains vehicle in a neat and tidy manner.

  • Reports all accidents/damages/malfunctions immediately to management as per company policy and procedure.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

 

Preferred Skills

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must hold a valid Class A CDL with TWIC, HAZMAT, and Tank Endorsement

  • Minimum of 24 months commercial driving experience

  • No more than 2 major moving violations within a 3 year period

  • No more than 2 accidents within a 3 year period

  • DOT Drug Screening required

  • No Felony convictions

  • No DUI's/ DWI's within the last 7 years

  • No positive or refused drug or alcohol tests

  • Current Medical Examiner's Certificate

  • Must be 23 Years of age or older

  • Ability to conduct all operations in a safe manner

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on a regular, full-time basis without restrictions

  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and comprehend the English language.
